Warmth of An Other
Half-moon
With an unshakeable clouded blanket
A young child stares at this moon
With a longing...
Deep...
Unmistakeable...
True.
The moon shimmers a pallid blue
As the hopes of youth
Drift away...
And darkness falls from the face of a life-sustaining rock.
Revealing the light of yet another day.
A day with a gentle warmth...
And a most unwelcome solitude.
A young child basks in the day's glow
Knowing that stardust will rise again
Like the sweet cake that slowly grows
Golden,
Within mother's oven.
With the stardust comes
Hope.
The hope that the pale moon will shed its armor of clouds
And at last reveal its beautiful face
To everyone.
Night falls...
A young child raises a pair of watery eyes
To the approaching
Lunar Fantasy...
Awaiting another face.
Tepid winds soothe a young child's wet face
As eyes open
To behold the visage
Of a Full Moon.
The moon shines pearly white...
Complete.
The stars dance jubilant
Holding this gorgeous moon up high...
And walking beside it faithfully...
While the moon's fiery vibrance
Brings with it
The promise of a new Sun...
And a young child smiles
Knowing that the unshakeable blanket of the moon
Has been shaken
Falling away...
Leaving nothing but
A complete and everlasting Moon
Within the loving arms
Of starlit space.
