Hi there! Welcome to the casting couch...
er, casting page... whatever. Anyway I'm looking for some voice
acting talent to fill out the lineup for the next episode of Gun.
For episode two, currently in development,
there are a total of 6 (SIX) vacancies in the voice acting cast.
There are two primary parts available, and four small parts. The
small parts are basically characters that have only a few lines
and aren't integral parts of the overall storyline of the series.
Having said that there are some guidelines I'd like to lay out for
the primary roles. And here they are!
1) Providing the voice of a primary
character means that you will probably be participating in future
episodes of the series beyond the current one, unless there is some
reason you can't or choose not to. Anyone interested in being a
voice for one of the primary characters should be prepared for a
longer-term commitment to the series and be ok with working with
me again.
2) Primary role = More acting talent.
The more important the character and his/her lines are, the better
the actor/actress should be. So please don't read your lines like
a robot (you know what I'm talking about). Unless of course the
character in fact IS a robot, in which case, go for it!
The two roles are for the following
characters:
CHARACTER 1:
Female, 27 years old. A sensitive young
woman, who is helpful and genuinely cares about others. A very intelligent
and focused woman, with a strong sense of loyalty. Soft, motherly
voice, but firm. Tends to giggle while talking. Generally easygoing
and friendly.
CHARACTER 2:
Male, 49 years old. A man with a sharp
social sense and a wise, no-nonsense demeanor. Very skilled with
hands. Gritty, thick manner of speaking that shows age and experience.
Always willing to share advice with younger people.
All of the smaller roles are
for male characters and have alot of flexibility with regard to
acting style. It is entirely possible for someone to play more than
one voice if they seem up to it.
If you are interested in becoming a
part of the "Gun" team, here's what you do next. All you
have to do is send off an email now to me at the following address:
fred@heretikstudios.com
And be sure to put "Casting Call"
in the subject line. Anyone who wishes to help out should give me
the following information:
1) Name or ScreenName/Handle/Alias/Whatever.
Basically tell me how you want to be credited if you end up doing
some work for the series.
2) Age. I'd prefer those in the 18
and up range, but if youre younger than that, dont hesitate to try
anyway. You might be talented, and its talent that matters most.
Having said that...
3) Role you'd like to try out for.
Pretty self-explanatory. Just pick one from the listed roles.
4) Samples of
Work. This one is important people. If you have samples of your
voice acting work already, that's a bonus. If you don't that's cool
too. Just take the sample lines below and record them as your acting
samples. They are not actual lines from the script, but just serve
as a measure of a couple of different voice acting styles. Once
you do, you can either send them to me directly or upload them to
a website like putfile.com
and then give me the link when you contact me.
If it sounds like I'm asking alot here,
it's only because I really cherish my work and want it to turn out
well. Because of that there is alot to consider in putting it in
other people's hands, and I'm sure plenty of flash artists out there
can totally understand that. But I also understand that without
the help of others this series cant really become everything I'd
like it to be, so the support and contributions of viewers and fans
are ALWAYS APPRECIATED! Thanks for your interest!
